Invited Talk by John Kelsey, NIST
Title: How to Evaluate a Hash Proposal
NIST has been wrestling with the issue of how to evaluatethe hash proposals we expect to receive for the NIST Hash
Competition. In this talk, I will go over some of our thinking so
far about what is required for hash functions, what is desireable, and
how to determine whether a hash proposal is likely to yield a good new
hashing standard. These are current thoughts, not final decisions,
and I am interested in feedback.
